A Mythic Raiding Guild on Defias Brotherhood!

About us

<Violent Circus> is a highly organised, community-focused and competitive mythic raiding guild established on Defias Brotherhood. Historically, we have been a PvP and PVE guild that attracts skilled, competitive players. We have a ridiculous amount of /played over the years, raiding and pvp achievements, and we all share a common passion for the game. Many of us have raided since the early days of Vanilla, we have seen the game at its best and at its worst, and we are armed with the patience and knowledge to face new challenges.

Our officers have many years of experience when it comes to running guilds, we have lead and managed our guild successfully in the past, we have seen it all, and have been in most situations that could be considered difficult for a guild and we have always gone out of our way to ensure the well-being of our community.

Previously a PvP guild, we were surprised by how enjoyable challenging raid mechanics, optimal play, and mythic loot can be, so in Legion we shifted our sights to PvE, relishing in progressing together and motivating each other to improve. We have cleared all the mythic content ever since in good time to get our Cutting Edges, and we are easily keeping up progress-wise with guilds raiding 3 days a week or more. We have achieved Hall of Fame multiple times (Sylvanas 19.09.21, Jailer 04.07.22, Raszageth 16.03.23), achievements we take great pride in considering the total amount of raiding time we do.

Naturally, we also enjoy doing mythic dungeons, battlegrounds and rated arenas, aiming to master our classes at whatever we pursue. We raid mainly two days a week. Our mandatory raids are on Mondays and Sundays (8-11 PM, CET).

NB: We are a semi-hardcore 2 days/week raiding guild. This means that we raid on a 2 days- 6 hours a week schedule, however optional progress raids do happen in the first week of a new tier or on a particularly difficult raid encounter we are progressing on (typically the last boss of the tier).

We chat regularly on discord and we have a variety of beautiful accents on offer. We are rather international, having many players from all over the world, so we always communicate in English. By now, most of us are grown ups with many real life responsibilities. Some of us have replaced gladiator titles and rare mounts with marriage and children. We respect each other’s time and understand its value. This is why, when we do play, we try to be at our best.

The guild is like family to us, the members currently forming our roster are mainly loyal long time raiders and non-raiders who have found a home in our guild and who are very excited to be part of our community and face new challenges in the raids to come.

Who do we want?

Due to our current focus on mythic progression, we want mature players who are also team players and understand difficult tasks require cooperation and good communication.

We do not accept social ranks usually but if you are interested in joining our amazing community, a well done application, in which the applicant shows he/she has the same values as us ingame, might get you a social rank in our guild.

Here are some other requirements:

  • You are at least 20 years old, with a decent understanding of the English language.
  • You are able to raid, most of the time, on Mondays and Sundays (8-11 PM, CET)
  • On the raid times, you can join our discord channel and are able to listen and communicate.
  • You try to excel at your chosen class and are able to take criticism
  • You respect other players and put progression before drama or loot
  • You are an all around mature person who respects the fact that although this is just a game, you are playing with real people who invest time and effort to make sure we all have a good home in World of Warcraft.

While a strong mythic raiding experience is preferred, we value potential and a positive attitude just as highly. We are a competitive group that expects people to bring their "A-game", but we also understand that everyone makes mistakes at times. Rather than letting issues simmer, we try to resolve problems as quickly as possible on Discord. In the case that a longer talk is warranted, we have a channel for after-raid discussion and debriefing. Just like your marriage counselor.

As a final thought, this guild is both old and new, relaxed (with only 2 raids a week) yet focused and competitive, but above all we are a good community. We are doing our best to protect our guild from drama and attention seeking, therefore such behaviour is not tolerated here and we do not encourage players with a past like that to attempt to join us. Our core of people stuck together through thick and thin (for more than 10 years), a few met through this game and took the relationship further in the real world. We keep in contact all the time and there are plans for more of us to meet outside Azeroth. We do realize tight communities like these might seem scary for new people, but we always manage to successfully integrate our newest recruits (if they are willing to do so).

Bottomline, if you want a place to call home again, after years of wandering around the world (of Warcraft) never quite fitting in anywhere and sometimes doubting good guilds like there used to be in the old days still exist, look no further. We can be all that and more for you.

Players who wish to join us need to make an application via our application forum - https://www.violentcircus.eu/applications - but if you need more information or are unsure about applying, you can always contact me (the Guild Leader) on Battlenet : Muon#21906 or Discord: eadrom (note: we do not typically accept social applications).

Thank you for taking the time to read this and good luck in your future endeavours in game or outside of it.
